Mr. Halsted is a founder and managing partner at Revelation Partners. He is currently also a managing partner at Leerink Revelation Healthcare Funds I & II , SC Everest, and SC Granite – all are funds dedicated to secondary investing in health care and represent in excess of $640 million in capital under management.
Mr. Halsted was previously a managing member at Morgan Stanley Ventures, where he worked from 1987 to 2007. As co-head of the healthcare practice at Morgan Stanley Ventures, Mr. Halsted managed over $300 million of investments in over 40 companies. Prior to his investment career, Mr. Halsted worked in the medical technology field in the areas of product design and business development for Intermedics Orthopedics and Hexcel Medical.
Mr. Halsted has completed over 50 health care transactions both as a primary and a secondary investor. Mr. Halsted’s investments encompass many successful companies including: Intuitive Surgical, Incline Therapeutics (acquired by MDCO), Ekos Corporation (acquired by BAT), AngioScore (acquired by SPNC), Astex Pharmaceuticals, MediGuide (acquired by STJ), eValve (acquired by ABT), Enanta Pharmaceuticals, Estech Corporation (acquired by ATRC), Concentric (acquired by SYK), MileStone Healthcare (acquired by HCR), Arcadian Health (acquired by HUM), BenefitMall, Microgenics (acquired by Sybron), Rita Medical, Cytyc Corporation, Managed Health Networks (acquired by FDNH), R2 Technology (acquired by HOLX), TEI Bioscience (acquired by IART), InnFocus Medical (acquired by Santen) and DiscoveRx (acquired by Eurofins).
Mr. Halsted is currently on the board of Intelycare and Optiscan Biomedical.
Mr. Halsted received his MM degree from Northwestern University and his AB degree from Dartmouth College. He also received a BE degree in Biomechanical Engineering from the Thayer School of Engineering at Dartmouth College.
